‘Tink’ Gorham (01-23-15)

BOWLING GREEN, KY. – Charles Kenneth “Tink” Gorham, 84, formerly of Athens, passed away with his family at his side Friday January 23, 2015, at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky.

Tink was born in Holly Pond, Ala., on August 5, 1930. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Ludie Gorham. He was one of nine children and has two sisters that are still living.

Tink was a retired quality control engineer from Westinghouse Electric, a member of Attica Baptist Church, and past deacon. He was also a retired board member of Jackson Electric Membership Cooperative and a veteran of United States Air Force, having served four years. He also was inducted into the Cullman County Sports Hall of Fame.

He had his undergraduate degree from Auburn University and a masters degree from the University of Georgia. Tink’s hobbies were sports, his farm and his animals.

Survivors include his wife, Florence Culpepper Gorham; one son, Dr. Trace Gorham (Nicole), Bowling Green, Ky.; one daughter Trinka Payton (James), Collinsville, Ala.; two sisters, Addie Evans (Bill), Cullman, Ala., and Rhonwyn Plagman, Gardendale, Ala.; four special grandchildren, Hannah Gorham, Jake, Jesse and Mary Payton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Monday, January 26, at 1 p.m. at Cullman City Cemetery in Cullman, Ala.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel, 820 Lovers Lane, Bowling Green, KY 42103.
