JEFFERSON – Betty J. Hanson Shell, 79, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015.
Mrs. Shell was born in Rome, the daughter of the late Leander and Luona Burnette Hanson. She was retired from IBM, where she worked as a secretary, and was of the Baptist denomination.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Clifford P. Shell III, Jefferson; sons, Edward Shell and Steven A. Shell, both of Jefferson; brother, Tom Hanson, Dade City, Fla.; sisters, Ann Brewster, Chickamauga, and Helen Willingham, Dallas; and three grandchildren, Nicholas, Joshua, and Shawana.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, at 10 a.m., at the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Wright and Mrs. Diane Wright officiating. The visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning at Evans Funeral Home, prior to the service. The burial will follow on Wednesday, February 11, at 1:30 p.m. in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
