WINTERVILLE – Nelson Albert Cowart, 58, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015.
A native of Madison County, Mr. Cowart was the son of the late J.C. and Essie Ruth Whitehead Cowart. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Cowart; and sister, Robin Burroughs. Mr. Cowart was a retired truck driver with Athens Seed Company.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Miller Whitehead Cowart, Winterville; son, Billy (Staci) Anglin, Hull; daughter, Pam (Ralph Willoughby) Booth, Hull; sister, Susan (Asa) Huff, Hull; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, at Ivie Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Clay Huff officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens. The family is at the residence and will receive friends Tuesday, March 3, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
