DANIELSVILLE – Charles Brown Mathis, 80, died Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Gentiva Hospice IPU.
Mr. Mathis was born in Commerce, the son of the late Joe Brown and Lorene Smith Mathis. He was a member of Redeemed Baptist Church, a United States Army Veteran, and a Mason. Mr. Mathis was a retired butcher. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Benton Mathis; and a sister, Hilda Anglin.
Survivors include sons, Mike Mathis and Ricky Mathis, both of Commerce; brother, James Mathis, Commerce; sister, Elizabeth Duncan, Commerce; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 4, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Phil Parks officiating. Interment will follow in Blacks Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, March 3, from 6 to 8 pm.
