‘L.C.’ Standridge (03-03-15)

HARTWELL – Rev. Luther Clyde “L.C.” Standridge, 89, entered into rest Tuesday, March 3, 2015.

Rev. Standridge was born in Jefferson, the son of the late Woodson D. Standridge and Annie Bell Payne Standridge. Rev. Standridge was an ordained Minister and a member of the Believers Baptist Church in Elberton, and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Pacific Theater in World War II. Rev. Standridge was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Evans Standridge; sisters, Betty Beatty and Katherine Smith; brothers, Harold Standridge and Dean Standridge; and a granddaughter, Geri Brittany Standridge.

Survivors include a son, Gerald Standridge and his wife Janet, Jefferson; daughter, Carolyn Pointer, Hartwell; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 6, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Revs. Dan Bailey and Gary Barnes officiating. The burial will follow in Jackson Memorial Park with Shane Guined, Bill Lokey, Bryan Bullock, Tony Beatty, Jeremy Standridge and Jack Sovia honored as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Evans Funeral Home.
