STATHAM – Sue Dowd Ward, 92, formerly of Paducah, Ky. and Winder, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Gentiva Hospice in Athens.
She was a homemaker and was of the Catholic Denomination.
A native of Paducah, Ky., Mrs. Ward was the daughter of the late George M. and Amy Longest Dowd. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Ward, Sr.; and one son, Thomas (Tommy) R. Ward, Jr.
Survivors include two sons, Steve Ward and his wife, Sherryl Lang, Savannah, and David Ward, Athens; a daughter, Karen Ward Simmons and her husband, Kermit, Jefferson; daughter-in-law, Dyanna Ward, Jackson, Miss.; and five grandchildren, Susan Ward, Devin Ward, Delaney Ward, Dana Simmons, and Heather Arnold.
Graveside services were held Monday, March 30, at Maplelawn Cemetery in Paducah, Ky., with the Rev. J. Patrick Reynolds officiating.
Lindsey Funeral Home of Paducah was in charge of arrangements.
