Ralph Russell Parris, 78, a long time resident of Stockbridge, passed away Monday, September 7, 2015.
Mr. Parris worked for many years in the commercial refrigeration industry building walk-in coolers. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying gardening, boating, fishing, and camping. He was also a talented mechanic and carpenter. He was a dedicated collector of unusual items and always enjoyed an animated discussion. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren.
Mr. Parris was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Cora Parris; his father, Jake Parris; and his son, Daniel Parris.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Walker Parris; son, Kenneth (Linda) Parris; daughter, Laurie (James) Hall; grandson, Nicholas (Rachel) Hall; granddaughter. Cassie Turner; great-grandson, Gannon Hall; sister, Eva Mae Forester; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 20, at 2 p.m., at Conyers Church of Christ, 1410 Flat Shoals Rd. SE, Conyers, GA with Jeff Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the memorial service from 1 to 2 p.m.
