CARROLLTON – Chris Dameron, 45, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013.
He was born October 15, 1968 in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Billy Ralph Dameron and Sandra and Randy Cochran. Chris was a man of many interest and talents but most important in his life was his family especially his wife Karen and their children Jake and Erin. Nothing pleased him more than spending time with them. He was employed as a sales executive with CWC and a member of Southern Hills Christian Church. He was a 1986 graduate of McIntosh High School and attended West Georgia College from 1986 to 1989 where he was a member of the Chi Phi fraternity and remained an active alumnus. Chris was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed Deer Hunting and Duck Hunting. He volunteered with several organizations, which support wildlife and hunting having served as Banquet Chairman of the Atlanta NRA Banquet, Chairman of the Local Ducks Unlimited Banquet and a member of the Delta Water Fowl Committee. He had a love of dogs and special talent for training retrievers. He had trained a number of Champions including one National Grand Champion. Chris also was a member of the Old South HRC.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Ellison Dameron, Carrollton; children, Jake Dameron and Erin Dameron, both of Carrollton; mother and stepfather, Sandra and Randall Cochran, Little Rock, Ark.; father, Billy Ralph Dameron, Peachtree City; sister and brother-in- law, Tiffany and Johnny Henderson, Dickson, Tenn.; brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Corinne Dameron, Stow, Ohio; grandmother, Ruth Cochran; and uncles, Richard Cochran and Regan Cochran, all of Baldwin; aunts, Sharon Mills, San Antonio, Texas, and Beverly Porter, Mansfield, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 29, at 2 p.m. from Southern Hills Christian Church with Ministers Ron Boswell and Mike Wall and Mr. Jeff Laws officiating. The body will be placed in state at 1 p.m. at the church prior to service. Pallbearers will be Ed Baskin, Jeff Laws, Dale Wilson, John Wilson, Richard Spinks, Bubba Williams, Dusty Cook and Scott Baldwin. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 27, from 12 until 2 p.m. and 6 until 7 p.m. at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel. In keeping with the family’s wishes, the body will be cremated following the service.
