Hautell L. Gulley, 93, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013, at Heart of Georgia Hospice.
Mrs. Gulley was born in Jackson County, the daughter of the late Obe Linton Langston, Sr. and Eunice Reed Langston. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Virginia Carol Gulley (1939); son, Bobby Harold Gulley (1997); husband of 63 years, Fred A. Gulley (2002); sister, Dorothy Hawks (2010); brother, Obe L. Langston, Jr. (2013) ; and son-in-law, Hoyet W. Brown, Jr. (2009).
She was a member of Harmony Christian Church in Commerce, but attended Centerville First Baptist Church in Centerville for 25 years. She was a well-known and respected seamstress for 30 years. In her retirement, she created and sold crafts to the public. She especially enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling with her husband in their RV, but her heart was at Mr. Bud’s Campground in the North Georgia Mountains. She was known for her chocolate pies and biscuits.
Survivors include her devoted daughter, Marilyn Gulley Brown, Warner Robins; grandson, Kenneth Brown (Erin); and great-grandchildren, Rowan and Lily Brown, Cumming; granddaughters, Jennifer Brown, Lawrenceville, and Melissa Gulley Kirksey (Bill), Warner Robins; and a former daughter-in-law, Pamela Gulley Boggs.
Survivors include her sisters-in-law, Geneva Standridge, Commerce, Grace Gulley, Athens, Laura Belle Langston, Maysville, and Frances Burns, Greenville, S.C.; and her loving nieces, nephews and friends, especially her dear friend of 61 years, Lela Tomlinson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 27, at 2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
