GILLSVILLE – Steven Ray Fattig Sr., 60, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2014.
He was born on July 16, 1953, in Ohio, the son of Dorothy Price of Ohio and the late Raymond Fattig. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Ray Fattig Jr.; and stepson, Raymond Standridge. Mr. Fattig was a United States Navy Veteran and truck driver.
Survivors in addition to mother include his loving wife of seven years, Carolyn Standridge Fattig, Gillsville; daughters, Tonya Fattig, Watkinsville, and Tara Weeks, Watkinsville; son, Chris Fattig, Athens; step-sons, Scott Standridge, Gillsville, and Chad Standridge, Gillsville; sister, Crystal Chase, Chicago, Ill.; brother, Michael Fattig, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Jerry Painbore, Ohio.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, at Silver Shoals Baptist Church with the Rev. Perry Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard, Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, Habersham County American Legion Post #84, and Rabun County DAV Chapter #15. The family will receive friends after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, at his residence, 258 Hickory Flat Rd., Gillsville, GA 30543
