HOSCHTON – Patsy Yuvonne Wages, 70, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014, following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of Lena Mauldin of Buford. Mrs. Wages was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Kurley Wages; and a brother Bobby Regan.
Pat retired from Scientific Atlanta after some 25+ years as a repair technician. After retiring, she became a caregiver and was loved by everyone she sat with. She came to be an avid NASCAR racing fan through one of her patients. She was also an active member of the Jackson County Senior Center. She enjoyed camping at Old Federal Campground on Lake Lanier and going to Myrtle Beach to walk on the beach. She will be remembered by family for her legendary dressing, coleslaw and sweet potato soufflé. Pat was a member of Gwinnett Hall Baptist Church. She was a wife, mother, nanny, daughter, sister and friend, she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors in addition to her mother include sons, Darryl Wages and Harold Wages, both of Pendergrass; daughters, Becky Pate and her husband Clark, Jefferson, Resa Wages – Ledford and her husband Wayne, Villa Rica, and Angela Harrison, Buford; grandchildren, Cristy, Rachel, Elizabeth, William, Tayler, and Desirae, as well as multiple great-grandchildren; sister, Sheila Glover, Buford; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
Funeral services honoring her life will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with the Rev. Chris Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in the East Shadowlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday and Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m., and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service.
