BALDWIN – Ruby Mathis Yarber, 84, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Jackson County on September 6, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Elbert and Ollie Umbehant Mathis. Ruby was retired from Ethicon and was a member of Baldwin Baptist Church, where she was active in the Joy Club and her Sunday School Class. In her spare time, she enjoyed collecting dolls and giving them makeovers. Ruby was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, James Bellamy and Penn Moss.
Survivors include sisters, Kathleen Bellamy and Hazel Moss, both of Baldwin; nieces, Vickie Fowler, Baldwin, Diann (Steve) Spruill, Toccoa, and Robin (David) Sanders, Baldwin; five great-nieces; two great-great nieces; and three great-great nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 13, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with the Rev. Mike Campbell and Pastor Terry Rice officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 12.
