ALTO – Gary James Pollard, 45, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014.

He was born on March 25, 1969, in Clayton, the son of the late James and Katherine Davenport Pollard. He was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth Echols, Stanley Echols, Hoyt Pollard, and Tom Pollard. Mr. Pollard was employed with Habersham County EMS as an EMT with 14 years of service. He also served as the Assistant Fire Chief with the City of Baldwin and Fire Chief with Banks County Fire Department.

Survivors include his loving wife of 10 years, Stacy Trapp Pollard, Alto; daughters and sons-in-law, Ashley and Kevin Masters, Alto, and Cassie and Jordan Fincher, Cleveland; daughter, Mariah Jacobs, Alto; sisters, Nell Hobgood, Sandy Springs, Delores Crane, Clayton, Nina Long, Social Circle, and Vicki Harmon, Toccoa; brothers, Rick Echols, Cornelia, and Ricky Pollard, Waynesville, N.C., Terry Pollard, Virginia; and grandsons, Ayden Masters and Abraham Fincher.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at Level Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Andy Wallace and Milton Harris, Jack Moody, Jim Wood and Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Full honors provided by the fire services. The family will receive friends from 2- to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 13, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers special memorials may be made to Patients of the Cancer Center at Southeaster Assistants in Healthcare, Attn: Karen Holladay, 600 Parkway North, Newnan, GA 30265.
