JEFFERSON – Kenneth Edmund Hartley Jr., 71, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014.
Mr. Hartley was born in Jacksonville, Fla., the son of the late Kenneth Edmund Hartley Sr. and Mildred Lee Hartley. Mr. Hartley was the retired owner of Ken’s Marine in Lawrenceville. He was a member of the Living Word Worship Center in Jefferson, and was a spiritual mentor to many.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Dorris B. Hartley, Jefferson; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Kenneth Green, Lilburn, Kathy and Kevin Lindberg, Hoschton; brother and sister-in-law, Elmer and Dianne Hartley, Danielsville; sisters and brother-in-law, Patricia Metcalf, Dawsonville, Gloria and Stanley Boss, Dunwoody; grandson, William and Amber Lindberg; granddaughters, Pamela and Ryan Morris and Kalie Green and Karris Green; grandson, Hagan Green; great-grandson, C.J. Lindberg; great-granddaughter, Leah Lindberg; and many nieces nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 21, at 2 p.m., in the Living Word Worship Center with the Revs. Mark Mobley, Jim Talley, Ron Bolt, Mark Akin and Victor Massey officiating. There will be a visitation period on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the Living Word Worship Center. The burial will follow in the White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Duluth with Bob Metcalf, Del Peterson, Glenn Petty, Zeno Douglas, Joey McWhorter, Hagan Green, Will Lindberg and Noah Mills honored as pallbearers. C.J. Lindberg is as an honorary pallbearer. An evening visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home.
