WINDER – Lorene Perry Wood, age 86, of Winder, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014, after an extended illness.
A lifelong resident of Barrow county, she was a daughter of the late Conyer and Pauline Wall Perry. Wood was the widow of William F. “Red” Wood. She was preceded by a sister, Mary Perry Healan and brothers, Wallace Perry and James Perry. She was a member of New Pentecost United Methodist Church, was a longtime employee of Carwood Manufacturing Company and was a retiree of Barrow Manufacturing Company.
Survivors include a sister Carolyn Wages of Winder; nieces and nephews, Charles Perry, Deborah Savage, Carol Burrell, Lisa Q. Shepley, Allison Lawrence, Nan W. Fortner, Susan Wages, Lucretia Carder, Perry Wages, Jarrett Perry and Joey Perry.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 from the chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Stoy Hogan and Carol Burrell speaking. Interment will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 28, from 10 a.m. until service time.
