COMMERCE – Wayne Wilbanks, 66, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Wilbanks was born in Commerce, son of the late Dewitt and Louise Spear Wilbanks. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Commerce. Mr. Wilbanks was a graduate of Georgia Tech with a degree in building construction and then graduated from Harvard’s Program for Management Development. He was the owner of Wilbanks Construction Consulting LLC.
Survivors include his wife, Veronica “Nicky” Lacey Wilbanks, Commerce; sons and daughters-in-law, Dylan and Lisa Wilbanks, Commerce, and Jesse and Amanda Wilbanks, Braselton; brothers, Gene Wilbanks, Mims, Fla., Lamar Wilbanks, Commerce, and Dennis Wilbanks, Mims, Fla.; and grandchildren, Lincoln Wilbanks and Madeline Wilbanks, both of Braselton.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 7, at First Baptist Church of Commerce with Dr. Carlton Allen officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, August 6, from 5 to 8 p.m.
