MAYSVILLE – Estelle Vaughan Wood, 78, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014.
Mrs. Wood was born in Centralhatchee, Georgia, in Heard County, the daughter of the late Mosley Perry Vaughan and Berta Adams Vaughan. Mrs. Wood was a master cosmetologist and hairstylist and served her community in which she lived. Mrs. Wood attended New Beginnings Church in Alto. Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by a son, Butch Wood.
Survivors include, her husband, Dwight Wood, Maysville; daughter and husband, Tammy and Terry Dearing, Maysville; grandchildren, Chad Dearing, Corey Dearing, Brandon Wood, Kristy Wood, and Hannah Wood; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services were held Monday September 29, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Revs. Tracy Davidson and Lamar Vaughan officiating. Interment was in Jackson Memorial Park in Commerce. Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Chad Dearing, Corey Dearing, Brandon Wood, James Coleman, Preston Wood, and Jack Steele. Honorary pallbearers were Tucker Dearing, Skylan Dearing, Tyler Wood, Thaddeous Freeman, Rylee Rouse, Chase Mize and Jaden Hoopaugh.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, was in charge of arrangements.
