ROYSTON – Rachel Fowler Royston, 82, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at her residence.
She was born in Franklin County on September 5, 1929, the daughter of the late Mack and Mayola Haley Fowler. She was a seamstress for 45 years with Oxford, a member of the Happy Travelers Club, and a member of the Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mrs. Royston was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas James “Pete” Royston; brothers, Marvin, Stewart, L.C. “Pete”, Jack, and Royce Fowler; sisters, Bertha Price, JoAnn Peeples, and Mary Brisco.
Survivors include daughters, Phyllis and Alan King, Bowman, Shirley John and Ricky Moore, Royston, and Patricia Royston, Royston; grandchildren and spouses, Rusty and Cherokee Bell, Ryan King, and Angel Moore; great-grandchildren, Kadence and Keegan Bell; sisters, Joyce Floyd and Ruby Brown, both of Royston, and Catheryn Cromer, Salisbury, N.C.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 31, at 3 p.m., from the Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Revs. Bert Synan, Gary Osteen and Chad Floyd officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. Burial will be in the Franklin Memorial Gardens – South.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, August 30, from 7 to 9 p.m. The family is at home.
