FLOWERY BRANCH – Stanley Hugo Stewart, 85, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at his residence, surrounded by family.

He was born September 30, 1926, the son of the late Hugo and Marie Stewart of Detroit, Mich., and was of the Catholic faith. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Navy, entrepreneur, business man and the former owner of Bev’s CafÄ. Mr. Stewart was also preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Stewart; and step-brother, Elwood Stewart.

Survivors include stepsons and daughter-in-laws, Jim and Linda Hewitt, Oakwood, and Tom and Peggy Hewitt, Flowery Branch; stepson, Don Hewitt, Broomfield, Colo.; sisters, Wilma Peloza, California, Maxine Duve, Michigan, and Margie Kott, Michigan; sister-in-law, Idabelle Stewart, Baton Rouge, La.; five grandchildren, Jennifer Tarr, Ben Hewitt, Tommy Hewitt, Nathan Hewitt and Natalie Hewitt; two great-grandchildren, Kevin Tarr and Lilly Hewitt; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 1, from the chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home. The Rev. Danny Newbern will officiate. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 4, at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Friday August 31, at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia, 2150 Limestone Pkwy., Gainesville, GA 30501.
