JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – Michael “Doc” D. Minish, 63, passed away at his residence on Thursday, October 16, 2014.
He was born in Commerce on July 20, 1951, the son of the late Milton Minish and Edna Good. He was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Brakhage. He served in Vietnam, owned a gas station in Muncie, Ind., and has been a Ford parts specialist for the majority of his working life in Indiana, Arkansas and Florida. Michael enjoyed sports, especially college football (Bulldog fan), was an avid surf fisher, and enjoyed reading and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sharon, of 23 years. They were married in Sevierville, Tenn. on October 19, 1992. Michael is lovingly remembered by a sister Tina (Minish) Burleson and her husband, Mike, Marshfield Mo.; daughter, Nikki Plonka and her husband, Joel; and grandson, Henry, Detroit, Mich.; step daughter, Angela Wilsford and her husband, Steve, Jacksonville, Fla.; loving nieces, Lindy and Shanna and their families, Marshfield, Mo.; the Dyer extended families of Ohio and Kentucky, as well as numerous friends from Georgia, Indiana, Arkansas and Florida over the years.
A memorial service was held Saturday, October 18, at Naugle Funeral Home.
