MARTIN – James Marshall Wood, 73, formerly of Jefferson, entered into rest Friday, October 24, 2014.
Mr. Wood was born in Jefferson, the son of the late James Frank and Reba Huntsinger Wood. Mr. Wood retired as a supervisor from the textile industry and loved hunting, fishing and gardening. Mr. Wood was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Underwood.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Berryman Wood, Martin; son, James L. Wood and his wife, Tammy, Martin; daughter, Susan Wood Gee, Martin; son, Bryan Thomas Wood, Jefferson; brother, Larry Wood, Albany; sister, Judy Tate, Jefferson; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services were held Sunday October 26, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Revs. Farrell Wilkins and David Wilkins officiating. Interment was in Woodbine Cemetery in Jefferson. Grandsons honored as pallbearers were James Wood, Jr., Travis Gilliam, David Webb, Christopher Wood, Seth Wood, Cody Gee, and Reid Gee.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, was in charge of arrangements.
