BOWMAN – Boyd Ray, 96, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Ray was born in Royston on March 28, 1918, the son of the late Gordon T. Ray and Essie Bond Ray. He was a farmer and was of the Holiness denomination. Mr. Ray was a United States Army Engineer Veteran. Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by brothers, Billy Ray and Robert Ray; and sisters, Edna Dove and Alma Simms.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Hall Ray, Bowman; sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony B. and Brenda Ray, Eatonton, and Mark and Anita Ray, Royston; grandchildren, Vincent Ray, Stephen Ray and wife, Marion, Nancy Ray, Sara Ray, Laura Ray, Jason Ray, and Kayla Ray; and great-grandchildren, Jackson Ray and Henry Ray
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, at the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Tye Sorrow, Kenneth Vanderford, and Doug Conwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Holiness Church Cemetery in Royston. The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 6. until 8 p.m. on Friday evening. The family is at the home.
