WINDER – Kathleen Smith Whitlock, 99, entered into rest Sunday, November 30, 2014.
Mrs. Whitlock was born in Jefferson, the daughter of the late Earl and Ruth Kent Smith. She was retired from the poultry industry and was a member of Pond Fork Baptist Church. Mrs. Whitlock was preceded in death by two daughters, Barbara and Mary Jane Whitlock; two sons, Donald and Charles Whitlock; sister Mary Lou Irving; three brothers, Jewel, Julius, and James Smith; and her husband, Comer L. Whitlock.
Survivors include daughter, Marion Hardigree and her husband Melvin, Winder; son, James Whitlock and his wife Shirley, Commerce; daughter, Linda Weaver and her husband Harold, Winder; daughter , Joyce Carroll, Commerce; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 4, from the Pond Fork Baptist Church with the Revs. Johnny Knight, M.A. Poole, and Scott Lance officiating with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Doug and Joey Carroll, Danny, Ricky and Keith Whitlock and Buddy Hardigree. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, December 3, from 6 to 9 p.m.
