JEFFERSON – Bertha Phillips Morris, 98, entered into rest Saturday, December 27, 2014.
Mrs. Morris was born in Jefferson, the daughter of the late John Robert and Onie Elizabeth Williams Phillips. She was a member of The Eastern Star, Walnut Fork Baptist Church, and was a homemaker who enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables from the garden of she and her late husband, M.S. Morris. Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by, six brothers; and three sisters. She was the last surviving member of her original family.
Survivors include two sons and their wives. Mike and Ada Morris, Winder, and Stanley and Janet Morris, Jefferson; a granddaughter, Amanda Hester and her husband Dale; and two great grandchildren, Hayden and Addison Hester.
Funeral services will be held Saturday January 3, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to the hour of the service.
