ROYSTON – Robert Lee Phillips, 98, of the Sandy Cross Community, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Phillips was the son of the late Clarence and Bessie James Phillips. He was a World War II Veteran having served in the Pacific Theater in the 6th Field Artillery. He was also a farmer and a member of the Pennington Chapel United Methodist Church in the Sandy Cross Community. He was preceded in death by his wife , Geneva Goodman Phillips; and daughters, Karen Lynn Phillips and Reva Arlette Phillips.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Kinsey and Joyce Phillips, Commerce, Kirby and Kay Phillips and Kevin and Laura, both of Royston; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral plans are incomplete and will be announced later by Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pennington Chapel United Methodist Church.
