HULL – John C. “Shorty” Walker, 86, died Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Elberton, the son of the late Byron Jackson and Annie Sue Bolton. He worked for Del-Mar and was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II and Korean War. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by a son, David M. Walker.
Survivors include his wife, Sybil Pitts Walker, Hull; daughters, Norma Patterson (Tim), Comer, Gail Cochran (Lewis), Danielsville, Gina Wallace, Hull, and Lorie Williamson (Jeff), Danielsville; son, Joey Walker, Hull; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 17, from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Lewis officiating. Interment was in the Gordon Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
